Poem of Everyone’s Soul – Persona 5 (Piano Version) (“Aria of the Soul”)

After multiple attempts, my friend got me to play Persona 5. As expected, I immediately fell in love with the JRPG. Still currently playing the game, just beat the fifth dungeon and waiting for the resolution to the calling card (trying to prevent spoilers).

To anybody that’s looking for a mature JRPG, I can definitely recommend Persona. It has charm, good soundtrack and actual strategic combat. It takes a while to get into full swing, but after the second dungeon when you’ve levelled up a few social links – the intricacies of the game really start showing themselves. I’m definitely enjoying it and thankful to my friend to almost forcing me to give the game a try.

In any case, I bought the “Persona 5 Piano Solo Sheet Music Book” and this was the first piece I started learning (besides “Beneath the Mask”). It can be found on the internet and imported as needed, not that expensive.

Next up is either Beneath the Mask or 13th Side (as one of the last KH covers). Time will tell which one happens first, but look forward to the next video!

Quick question, is “Aria of the Soul” Persona’s “Dearly Beloved” or is that just me? Just me? Okay.

Roxas – Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections

Most readers will know that The Other Promise is my favorite piece. Which makes it even stranger that it took me this long to upload Roxas’ Theme.

I took a surprising amount of takes for this “simple” piece, as I wasn’t happy with how it sounded quite often. My teacher used to say that the simple pieces are those in which you can really see someone’s musicality. This pretty much meant how much you’re expressing yourself in the piece; how much that you convey through the notes played. Since one isn’t as focused on the technical aspects, it should be a higher priority here and it’s what can make some simple pieces sound better than really complex ones.

On another note: the video quality suffered a bit in my opinion, but I had to adjust on the fly to Shotcut, since there’s no Windows Movie Maker in Windows 10. I’ll try to find another alternative for next video, as to me it seems as if some audio quality was lost, which to me is the most important part of these uploads.

If anyone has any recommendations, I’d love to hear them. 🙂

Hope you enjoyed the video!

Concert Paraphrase on ‘Dearly Beloved’ – Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections

Merry Christmas to everybody – hope this video find you well!

Due to university and life (changing subjects, band projects, etc.) it’s taken me more than a year to upload a new video. Truthfully, I just didn’t feel up to it. Felt like my music wasn’t on par or rather, that it just didn’t seem right to upload a video. I’m weird sometimes. Having uploaded another video feel great, but I also notice how I’ve picked up some bad habits again. Since summer 2016 I’ve been without a teacher. The cost increased due to switching the education level and I haven’t found searched for another teacher yet.

Last March I went to the Kingdom Hearts World Tour Concert in London with my SO. She isn’t a fan of the series, but she’s heard more than enough of the soundtrack due to my playing as well as the music I listen to. The concert was great and I’m really glad we went to London just for the concert. It was a once in lifetime opportunity, but I was hesitant to go, but thanks to my partner we went. She knew I’d regret it if we didn’t take advantage of this opportunity.

Planned are monthly uploads now for the YouTube channel (maybe I’ll even reduce it to every 3 weeks at some point, but first gotta get used to this system and actually consistently upload video). The next video will probably be Roxas from the Kingdom Hearts Piano Collections.

Once again, merry Christmas – happy new year!

I’ll see you guys in January with the next video 🙂
